Birth Doula Services

The following are included in our birth doula services and are not limited to the following:

  • One free consultation. This is a casual one hour meeting to get to know each other, talk about your pregnancy and discuss your birthing desires. We also share about our doula services and scope of practice and find out if we are a good match. Usually we meet at a beach park or your home for this interview.
  • Two prenatal visits, each lasting typically around 2 hours. During these visits we will discuss birth preferences, comfort measures, relaxation techniques, labor positions, labor preparation and postpartum preparation. We talk about choices and options and make sure both partners have a full basket of tools and comfort to get through the labor process as smoothly as they can. A partner plan is created as well as a birth preferences plan if desired. As well as anything else that comes up. Preparing for birth is a beautiful and important way to spend time together. virtual and in person, or in person.
  • We can provide phone, email, and text support throughout your pregnancy based on your needs. When it is appropriate, we pass care to another professional to help hold the family in many capacities. It takes a village to raise a child. I always to refer to therapists, chiropractors and lactation consultants when necessary.
  • We are on call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks of pregnancy through birth.
  • Active labor support is usually when most families want support. Phone calls and check-ins happen every 3 hours until physical labor support is wanted.
  • Doulas generally stay 1-3 hours hours after birth.
  • One post visit is included with the birth doula package. It is different from a typical postpartum doula visit and scheduled between 3-14 days postpartum. This visit is focused on processing the birth and making sure your entire family is thriving as best as it can with such a huge life transition.
  • If desired we can assist in photographing the labor with your camera or one of our iPhones.
